DataOne Collaborates with Ford Motor to Facilitate Its VIN Decoder Services

DataOne Software, a Dominion-acquired company, announced a collaboration with Ford Motor. It stands to offer build data as a part of DataOne’s VIN Decoder API web service Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury.

On 13 July 2022, DataOne Software announced a collaboration with the automobile giant Ford Motor. The collaboration aims to allow Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury to construct data in the VIN Decoder API web service by DataOne. This will assist the customers in identifying the Ford inventory through the VIN web service, from 2011 to the current year models. 

The VIN decoding is a standard format that is provided by DataOne across multiple brands. The collaboration will add three brands in the list of vehicles that will be identifiable using DataOne’s VIN technology.

Benefits To The Customers

The accessible data will include the build date and other details of the vehicle since its manufacture, including the installed transmission, color of the exterior and interior of the car, and information about all other factory-installed equipment. These details will be linked to each vehicle’s 17-digit unique VIN number. 

This partnership will expand the OEM build data market of DataOne, and will allow the customers to know not only about the vehicle but also the necessary equipment installed in it. Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles will benefit highly through the collaboration, as their levels of reliability amongst the consumers and authenticity of the equipment used will substantially rise.
