With this collaboration, Hyundai Mobis & Ottopia are to work together & provide an RMA (Remote Mobility Assistance) to OEMs & Mobility Service providers enabling the commercialization of autonomous mobility.
Hyundai Mobi’s RMA is a centralized platform for autonomous & automated vehicles that enables Vehicle & Convenience services deployed on a high-performance ECU with 5G multi-modem technologies and Human-machine Interfaces. These Vehicle Solutions include Teleoperation, Remote Diagnostics, Over-The-Air updates (OTA), and Fleet Management, whereas Convenience Services focus on passengers.
The RMA platform is a multi-partition architecture design, advancing high-performance ECU & 5G technologies. Humans can monitor, operate & directly control fleets of vehicles. It can be deployed in and scaled from non-passenger vehicles like trucks to passenger vehicles like Robo-taxis & shuttle buses.
Ottopia’s teleportation software enables autonomous capabilities for their vehicle fleets while allowing their developers to save R&D costs dramatically & comply with regulatory requirements. People can safely monitor and operate the fleets of vehicles with Ottopia leveraging proprietary networking, video, control, safety, and cybersecurity technologies. The core of its patented technology is the reliable low-latency & high-bandwidth link between vehicles and remote operator centers at scale.
In this collaboration, Hyundai Mobis & Ottopia introduce end-to-end remote mobility solutions, where Ottopia’s contribution is their patented software technologies for Tele-operation. And Hyundai Mobis provides their Global Tier-1 RMA platform with Hardware/Software support and system integration capabilities where the remote assistance solutions can be easily deployable at scale. It facilitates the rapid commercialization of autonomy in all possible industry sectors like transportation, logistics, construction, mining, agriculture, and last-mile delivery.
Abdul Khaliq, Head of Future Mobility Transformation SW of Hyundai Mobis, says RMA is an innovative platform for OEMs & MSPs (Mobility Service Providers) to innovate new business models & bring services to their end customers. He adds this collaboration with Ottopia in bringing Teleoperation is the first of many services to get deployed on RMA.
Amit Rosenzweig, Founder & CEO of Ottopia, says this collaboration allows developers to save R&D expenditure, commercialize faster, and meet regulatory requirements for deployment. He adds that this is a game changer for autonomy & they are very excited to work with Hyundai Mobis in bringing the Remote Mobility Assistance to life.
