Partnership in Propulsion Systems
BorgWarner, headquartered in Auburn Hills (Michigan, USA), is an automotive industry parts and components supplier offering innovative solutions for eMotors. Taking business to new heights, BorgWarner has been chosen to deliver high-voltage hairpin (HVH) eMotors to a prime smart electric vehicle brand in China. The HVH eMotor will be used in the second-generation 800v propulsion system platform of the Chinese company. The mass production of this collaborative vehicle model is expected to start in October 2023.

The 800V oil-cooled eMotors from BorgWarner inculcate permanent magnet rotors and proprietary stator insulation enhancement technologies for durability. These eMotors are available as motor assemblies or stator and rotor subassemblies. With 96% efficiency and 4% higher power and torque density than other brands, this eMotor is environment-friendly and highly energy-efficient. Additionally, it converts mechanical energy into electrical energy and charges the battery through the inverter.

BorgWarner is a celebrated name in the e-Motor production industry for its vast expertise and reputation. It recently acquired Santroll Automotive Components, a section of Santroll’s light vehicle e-Motor business. This acquisition and the partnership with the leading Chinese smart EV brand are expected to strengthen the position of BorgWarner and widen its portfolio in the eMotor market.
