The new JV, named ElectroForge, will utilize the technical expertise and manufacturing excellence of Kalyani Powertrain and Harbinger Motors for advanced and efficient EV drivetrains.
Kalyani Powertrain Limited, a subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd. and an emerging global supplier of e-mobility components in the automotive industry, enters a joint venture with Harbinger Motors Inc, an innovative supplier of medium-duty EV, battery, and drivetrains. This joint venture, ElectroForge, concentrates on formulating electric drivetrain solutions for the commercial vehicle industry.
ElectroForge will combine the industry-specific strengths of the companies – Harbinger’s futuristic innovation and Bharat Forge’s scalable manufacturing knowledge. It will develop electric powertrains for medium-duty commercial vehicles, meeting the surging demand of the commercial vehicle market for scalable class 3 through 8 trucks solutions.

The venture’s operations will commence at KTPL’s Pune facility, leveraging cutting-edge technology to produce high-power, low-mass drivetrains with novel architecture suitable to enhance the durability and performance of commercial vehicles. The production facility will further expand worldwide. ElectroForge will serve as a mass manufacturer of electric powertrains for Harbinger and anchor KTPL’s global manufacturing experience in India, Europe, and North America.
